Remote Software Engineer

ROLE:

Our valued client is looking for a product-focused Software Engineer who is able to drive technical decisions and has delivered large pieces of functionality. Our valued client is a Social music app dedicated to bringing artists and fans closer together. Artists use this app as a platform to amplify early traction needed to land on popular playlists with streaming parties, engage with their super fans, and create a sense of community around their brand. For fans, the app combines gamification with music streaming by providing shareable stats about their listening habits, passively generated in-app currency to redeem exclusive rewards, and leaderboards to compete with other super fans. The successful candidate will be building project infrastructure to support the product’s rapid user growth. Working with an engineering team and assisting in the development, making suggestions/improvements to our backend infrastructure, and collaborating with a team to ensure the technology is in a position to continue to scale efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Build maintainable and testable software in collaboration with our Engineering team.
  • Review the code and perform extensive testing to ensure mobile applications are functioning properly.
  • To improve the company’s backend infrastructure, make suggestions and provide insight and influence in key technical decisions.
  • Work with our Head of Product to understand our roadmap and architect features from start to finish.

Skills and Requirements

Must have skills

  • Have over 3+ years of experience in a Software Development role.
  • Have a solid development experience with Javascript, Node.js and React.js.
  • Have experience using a database solution.
  • Good understanding of HTTP requests.
  • Have experience using Terraform, Cloudformation, CDK, Pulumi, or similar.
  • Familiar with container-based deployment to Kubernetes.
  • Have knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Passionate for improving software development workflow/processes.
  • Fully understand the full cycle of software development.

Nice to have skills 

  • Have experience as a backend or full-stack engineer on a mobile application.
  • Has worked in a fast-paced startup environment.
