ROLE:

Reporting to the Manager, Workforce Planning & People Insights, the Senior Specialist, Workforce Planning plays a key role in developing and maintaining BCLC’s operational and strategic workforce plan and processes to ensure BCLC has the right people, with the right skills in the right places at the right time. The Senior Specialist, Workforce Planning creates and implements workforce planning programs and initiatives to support current and future organizational goals, including executing, in collaboration with stakeholders, enterprise-wide initiatives and client-specific programs related to succession planning, talent acquisition, and talent development.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Participates in the design and implementation of workforce planning framework, methodologies, and processes.
  • Analyzes relevant data to forecast workforce needs and conducts assessments to ensure BCLC has the right people to deliver on exceptional gambling entertainment, today and tomorrow.
  • Transforms data into meaningful business insights and actionable plans and communicates opportunities and workforce trends to senior leaders in the business.
  • Works with People Insights & Analytics and with the business to help shape the design and development of predictive modelling to create scenarios or forecasting models helping the organization make fact-based talent planning decisions and proactive people strategies pertaining to future workforce.
  • Works closely with P&C and business leaders to integrate standardized workforce planning practices into the organization
  • Facilitates discussions on key strategic workforce trends and demands, predictive resourcing and capability insights, and future skill gaps.
  • Provides workforce planning services to the business including analyzing workforce and skill gaps, as well as developing a workforce planning action plan that involves monitoring progress and updating the business.
  • Works jointly with the People Recruitment team to align Strategic Workforce Planning with BCLC’s Recruitment strategy to effectively acquire and employ the workforce needed to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with People Development to establish and effectively manage BCLC’s succession planning processes, including high-potential, critical role, and critical knowledge assessments. Works with P&C stakeholders (People Operations and Development, People Recruitment) and business leaders to ensure effective development plans are put in place to address these roles.

Skills and Requirements

Education and Experience

  • A degree in a related discipline such as Business or Human Resources;
  • CHRP designation is an asset;
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in P&C Business Partnering combined with a solid understanding/ experience working with people workforce data and insights or related experience in previous roles involving strategic workforce planning;
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Technical Requirements

  • Demonstrated application of best practices in the full range of workforce planning activities;
  • Solid knowledge of the principles of workforce and succession planning;
  • Ability to translate data into actions and recommendations;
  • Strong business acumen to align both business objectives and P&C strategies with corporate goals to maximize shareholder value;
  • Strong project and change management skills with a proven ability to successfully deliver and execute initiatives, products, programs, and/or policies;
  • Demonstrated team building and leadership skills, and proven ability to motivate, coach and develop others;
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills at all organizational levels;
  • Strong negotiation and strategic influencing skills;
  • Strong collaboration skills working both within and across the organization, at all levels;
  • Good understanding and awareness of strategic and tactical business planning and executional issues and processes;
  • Sound knowledge of P&C policies and programs and best practices;
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrates diplomacy and tact.
  • Experience working within public sector guidelines is an asset;
